Full Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by our experienced guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. After settling in, you can take some time to relax and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we will depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant population and diverse bird species. As we embark on our game drive, keep your binoculars ready to spot some of the over 500 bird species that call this park home, including the yellow-collared lovebird, red-and-yellow barbet, and the endemic Ashy starling.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara National Park
We will start the day with a morning game drive in Tarangire before continuing our journey to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 400 bird species recorded within its boundaries. Look out for the iconic pink-hued flamingos, as well as the crowned eagle, silvery-cheeked hornbill, and many more.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National Park
Today, we will head to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, home to the famous Great Migration and an abundance of wildlife. While exploring the vast plains and acacia-dotted savannah, keep an eye out for some of the over 500 bird species found here, such as the kori bustard, Fischer's lovebird, and the secretary bird.

Day 5: Full Day Birding in Serengeti National Park
Dedicate this day to bird watching in the Serengeti, as we traverse different habitats in search of both resident and migratory bird species. From grassland birds like the yellow-throated longclaw to raptors like the martial eagle, the Serengeti offers a diverse avian spectacle against the backdrop of thrilling wildlife sightings.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Leaving the Serengeti behind, we will make our way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater. En route, we may have the opportunity to spot some unique bird species such as the Hildebrandt's starling, Schalow's turaco, and the white-eyed slaty flycatcher.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Today, we will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing. While marveling at the incredible density of wildlife in this natural amphitheater, don't forget to look up and appreciate the diverse birdlife that inhabits the crater rim and floor. Keep an eye out for the black kite, African fish eagle, and the colorful lilac-breasted roller.

Day 8: Optional Kilimanjaro Day Hike
For those seeking an additional adventure, today presents the option for a day hike on Mount Kilimanjaro. Accompanied by experienced guides and porters, you can choose from various routes based on your preference and fitness level, allowing you to experience the beauty of Kilimanjaro without committing to a full summit attempt.

Day 9: Departure
As your 9-day Tanzania safari comes to an end, you will be transferred back to Arusha where you can reflect on the incredible experiences and memories made during your birding adventure, wildlife encounters, and optional Kilimanjaro excursion. From there, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey or flight back home.
